The course aims to develop students' English language in the context of seeking employment and the workplace. The course aims to develop exam taking strategies for the BEC certificate.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course students will have:
* reached a level of English equivalent to level C1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework for Languages Reference (CEFR).
* increased awareness, understanding and ability to accurately use grammar, vocabulary and register in a variety of written and spoken texts in the context of business.
* be able to understand and respond to written and spoken texts in English in the context of business
* be able to write a range of texts in the context of business.
* developed exam taking strategies related to the tasks specified in the BEC examination.

Skills:
During the course, students will:
* practise taking the BEC exam with model exam papers
* listen to authentic business interviews.
* read texts common in business contexts including proposals, messages and emails.
* write texts common in business contexts including emails, memos and reports.
* develop autonomy in the use of English in a business context.

Content:
Materials and activities on the course will:
* cover a broad range of business contexts including leaders and managers, chairing meetings and competitive advantage.
* include a focus on reading, listening, writing and speaking in the context of business.
* practise grammar in a variety of texts in the context of business.
* increase the lexical range in the context of business.
