Further information on descriptions Description: Aims:
The overall aim of the Social Entrepreneurship Action Project is to create the opportunity for students to tackle a social issue in a business or organisation organisational setting. This is designed to give the opportunity for students to begin to apply some of the concepts, techniques and skills acquired during their taught programme.

Learning Outcomes:
Students who successfully complete the unit will have demonstrated their ability to:
* tackle social issues within the business or organisational setting.
* undertake entrepreneurial activities.
* plan a practical activity.
* act on that plan, adapting their objectives to meet the needs of the situation where appropriate.
* present their findings in a written and oral form.

Content:
The unit normally entails a number of key stages and milestones:
* Team formation by start of the unit (normally 6 students/team with possible slight variations depending on overall student numbers)
* Briefing on the Social Entrepreneurship Action Project aims; group formation;
* Identification of a suitable community project by teams - for approval and formative feedback by instructors.
* Conduct of the project by teams.
* Interim update on teams' progress on conduct of the community project - for formative feedback by instructors.
* Assessments: Team written report writing up findings accounting for and reflecting on the community project + team oral presentation (approx. 15 min) on the written report group co-ordinator. Students will learn about other areas in ways which will vary from one project to another depending on the objectives of the project and the circumstances of the team.
