Synopsis: Advance your knowledge of innovative structural materials used in the construction industry. Develop your awareness and enthusiasm for materials and techniques that are at the forefront of modern construction or may be adopted for future construction.
Intended Learning Outcomes: Prioritise solutions using sustainable materials in a modern building context.

Specify the use of advanced materials and technologies to improve the built environment.

Apply solutions to particular problems of material incompatibility and degradation.

Evaluate the use of novel materials such as nanomaterials and multifunctional materials in modern construction.
