Description: Aims:
This unit will help students attain the knowledge and skills required to develop a personal development plan in line with their career aspirations.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the unit, the students should be able to:
* Learn about the career pathways open to psychology graduates with foundation knowledge in Clinical Psychology
* Be able to identify the skills required for relevant career pathways
* Reflect on their own skills, experience and goals
* Present and communicate their skills, experience and goals in ways suited to a professional environment
* Develop plans and strategies regarding continuing professional development post-graduation
* Demonstrate an understanding of how reflective learning contributes to professional development
* Understand how peer and inter-disciplinary learning are critical to professional development

Content:
This unit provides students with the opportunity to engage with their own personal development, synthesising knowledge from a variety of sources in order to set out goals and plans for personal development aligned with career aspirations.
Teaching activities will include presentations and discussions with external speakers
Students will engage in structured reflection on own performance and skills development. There will also be a focus on practical, relevant, work-based skills, for example written and oral communication for a variety of audiences, time management and workload planning. The assessment will mirror continuing professional development activities in the modern healthcare workplace.
