Requisites:
Aims: This unit will introduce you to the:
  • Business environment in which chemical engineers work, along with economic parameters and methods for evaluating the costs and profitability of engineering projects within a legal framework,
  • Complexity of environmental interactions and the ways in which human activities can impinge on the ecosystem as a whole.


Learning Outcomes: After successfully completing this unit, you will be able to:
  • Describe the principles of sustainability (environmental, social and economic) and main methods minimising environmental impact. (A2.7a, A2.7b, A2c, A4.3d) [CLO: K3]
  • Apply appropriate techniques for analysing interaction of process, product and plant with the environment. (A2.7a) [CLO: P1]
