Requisites:
Aims: To provide practical experience in the application of knowledge and skills gained at the University, by working in a professional activity in an approved organisation working with/for children and young people, for example:
* Relevant Governmental and non-governmental organisations;
* Voluntary organisations working in the youth, education, health and caring fields;
* Schools, Colleges and other educational establishments in the public and private sectors.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of the unit the students should be able to:
* Apply their academic knowledge to a practical work setting;
* Reflect on how their work experience relates to the knowledge gained at University.

Skills: To develop skills in oral and written communication, time management, problem solving, group work and decision making.

Content: The content will vary depending on the placement. In choosing the placement, the University will try to ensure the organisation offers adequate opportunities for the student to demonstrate a significant number of the following skills:
* Application of academic knowledge
* Practical ability
* Writing skills and oral communication
* Application of Technology
* Interpersonal skills
* Responsibility and Reliability.
