Requisites:
Aims: This unit aims to:
* develop students' understanding of key sociological and psychological theories and concepts that are useful for studying and critiquing children and technology on a global scale
* engage students in critical evaluation and reflection upon key ideas and theories concerning the role that technology has on learning and psychosocial development in different contexts.

Learning Outcomes: At the completion of this unit the student should be able to:
* Critically evaluate children's use of technology in education and society.
* Critically apply relevant learning (from psychology and sociology) to children and young people's use of technology
* Critically evaluate the ICT policy and curriculum and other relevant policy initiatives
* Critically evaluate the potential of new technology in relation to children with learning and developmental disorders
* Critically evaluate the relationship between children, technology and globalisation.
* Design and/or produce learning or professional resources mediated by digital media on the social media platform (web-essay and e-resources).

* Mobile learning and children
* New technology in relation to children with learning and developmental disorders.
