Requisites: Before taking this module you must take ES20011 AND take ES20012
Aims: To provide students with the necessary tools to analyze and understand social choice and political economy problems such as: different voting systems, implementation of public policies, political institutions and electoral competition.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of the unit students should:
* Be able to understand the different voting systems and their advantages/disadvantages.
* Be able to understand and use the concept of implementation and how it relates to social and political issues.
* Be able to understand and distinguish the incentives provided by the different institutions governing the economy.
* Be able to understand the different models of political competition and how these relate to real life situations.

Skills: Problem solving, logical thinking, understanding of collective decision problems.

3. The Spatial Model of Political Competition
4. Implementation of Public Policies
