| Aims:
| To advance data analysis and further develop each student's ability to effectively communicate scientific research findings.
|
| Learning Outcomes: | - Utilise advanced statistical procedures for analysing data produced in the sport, exercise and health discipline, both with and without the assistance of statistical software packages;
- Appraise different methodological approaches and philosophies in sport, exercise and health science;
- Interpret and summarise research outcomes in sport, exercise and health science;
- Critically evaluate research designs and methodologies used by sport, exercise and health scientists.

| Content: | Extension to basic inferential statistics; simple and factorial analysis of variance and covariance; normality and sphericity; statistical errors and multiple comparisons; statistical power and effect/sample size; magnitude-based inferences, methods of assessing reliability, validity and measurement error; multiple linear regression; in-depth analysis of research designs and their limitations, further introduction to qualitative data analysis.
