Requisites:
Learning Outcomes: After successfully completing this unit, you will be able to:
* Choose the appropriate mathematical models to solve chemical engineering principles and processes (A1b) [CLO: K1; I1]
* Interpret a chemical engineering scenario to identify the effect of processing steps on the materials being processed and end product (A2.4c) [CLO: T2]
* Interpret a chemical engineering scenario to predict the response to changes in a dynamic system (A2.5c) [CLO: P1]
* Design a control system for chemical engineering process with given product specifications (A2.5c) [CLO: P2]

Aims: This unit will introduce you to the transient behaviour of processes, and the mathematical models and numerical methods by which this behaviour can be described, analysed and controlled.

Skills:
* Analysis [T,F,A]
* Problem solving [T,F,A]

Content:
* Introduction to transient bevahour of processes
* Introduction to formulation of mathematical models
* Application of numerical methods
* Model, analyse and predict response of dynamic systems
* Design measurement systems and control functions.
