Requisites: Before or while taking this module you are advised to take EE30147 or equivalent.
Learning Outcomes: After taking this Unit the student should be able to:
* Demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of the technical process that is engineering design.
* Demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of the commercial aspects of engineering.
* Work in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Develop a business plan.

Aims: To give each student the experience of real engineering design situation as part of a group.
This Unit builds on the evaluation stage, leading to a detailed design that takes into account both engineering and business aspects.
To present these results in written and oral form and to practising engineers at an exhibition.

Skills: Working in a team; problem solving; numeracy; written communication; oral communication; IT; leadership. Taught, facilitated and tested.

Content: Detailed design/Detailed commercial study. Analysis and simulation. Design for manufacture. CAD. Business plan. Exhibition presentation.
