  • Group Coursework 1 (CW 50%)
  • Coursework 2 (CW 50%)
Supplementary Assessment:
Like-for-like reassessment (where allowed by programme regulations)
Requisites: Before or while taking this module you must take MA30084
Learning Outcomes: On completing the course, students should be able to
* formulate a problem and carry out an exploratory data analysis;
* apply the theory of linear and generalised linear models to real data;
* use R for all aspects of data analysis;
* present results in a suitable style.

Aims: To complement MA30084 with practical applications of generalised linear models thorough analysis of real-life statistical problems.

Content: Application of linear models and generalised linear models to practical problems and implementation in R.
Formulating statistical problems. Choosing an appropriate method of analysis, model-building, verification of assumptions. Working with real-life data. Presentation of results in an appropriate format.
Application of the above through tackling a variety of real-life statistical problems.
