At the end of this unit students will be able to:
* Determine how the external environment in which organizations operate relates to strategy practice * Be able to critically evaluate and argue the appropriateness of strategies and strategic practices and their contributions to the sustainable development of the organisation. * Display a sound understanding of relevant theories and be able to appraise strategies, strategic practice and relevant evidence critically |
Aims: | The primary objectives are:
* To engage students in the investigation of the practice of strategy in the international context. * To develop the critical abilities and skills to analyse the current issues associated with strategies in the international context. * To develop a critical understanding of the techniques and methods in the development and implementation of strategy in the international context. * To enhance student international business skills through understanding corporate responsibilities and social accountability on an international perspective. |

The unit is designed to help students to better understand the strategies and practices associated with the conduct of strategy in the international context, the issues considered will vary to ensure currency but may include topics such as strategy development in uncertain environments, managing trade-offs in international strategy, developing strategic capabilities, developing the skills of strategy development and strategizing. |
