Learning Outcomes: This unit will advance students' knowledge and understanding of the interplay between the global business environment and business and management. The learning outcomes are:
* The ability to critically evaluate and synthesise information in international business and management domains.
* The ability to analyse contemporary issues and trends as related to international business and management.
* The ability to develop strategic responses to contemporary issues facing international business and management .


Aims: The unit provides a perspective on contemporary issues in relation to international business and management.

Skills: Intellectual skills: Application of various theories in international settings to real world cases (T, A). Develop research skills through critical reading, analysis of information and data; and the production of written work (T, F, A).
Transferable/ Key skills: Ability to appreciate diverse views on issues and work in groups (F). Develop ethical approach to business activities (T, F). Presentation skills (A).

Content: International business environment is persistently affected by the rapidly changing interaction among the multinational political, economic, financial, legal, technological and social environments. This course is designed to edify the application of critical thinking skills in evaluating contemporary issues so that the students can use informed judgment in formation of appropriate business responses to the changing environments and challenges.
In line with the contemporary focus of the course, topics covered may vary from year to year depending on emerging issues. Discussion topics will typically reflect topics such as responses to changing business environments, changing business and management practices.
