Before you begin

The only prerequisite for this course is a knowledge of Microsoft Windows, however a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Teams would be beneficial. This can be gained from the Smarter Meetings and Collaboration using Teams course.

  • Delivery Method: Tutor led, over Teams, with a recording of the session to refer to.

  • Course Duration: 1.5 - 2 hours

What you will learn

Microsoft Teams is an application already in use in the University of Bath for collaborative working, remote meetings or conference calls, communication and online teaching. This course looks at using this application to arrange, deliver and record events. You will learn how to:

  • Set up an event as a Teams meeting and copy the link into an invitation
  • Set the options to control who can ‘run’ or control the event
  • Use the Conversation pane to field questions and provide answers
  • Spotlight key speakers
  • Create breakout rooms
  • Share your screen, PowerPoint file or video
  • Record the event and make the recordings available to others, if necessary
  • Create and use polls
  • Share files or use a whiteboard
  • Download a list of attendees

  • Select Learning & Training along the top
  • Search Learning Activities for Teams and select this course
  • Select the date you wish to book
  • Complete any other details, as you wish
  • Select Save
