Income related scholarships

You can apply for these scholarship if you are a new first year UK undergraduate student.

Scholarship value: Up to £3,000 per year of study

Scholarships available: 12

Scheme opens: Spring 2018
Scheme closes: 31 August 2018

You need to:

  • be an eligible first year Home UK undergraduate student
  • be registered on a full-time campus-based undergraduate honours degree course
  • not already hold an honours degree (or equivalent)
  • have a household income of £42,875 or below
  • achieve at least AAB at A level or equivalent
  • not be eligible for, or in receipt of, the Bath Bursary or Gold Scholarship. Some scholarship exceptions may apply with our corporate schemes

Lloyds

You can apply for this scholarship if you are a UK undergraduate student. Includes development and placement opportunities with Lloyds Banking Group.

Scholarship value: £1,000 per year of study (excluding placement) with an opportunity to earn additional cash rewards if you are a top academic performer

You need to:

  • be an eligible new first year Home UK undergraduate student
  • have made Bath your Firm choice
  • have a household income of £25,000 or less as assessed by your student loans awarding agency

AB InBev Scholarship

You can apply for this scholarship if you are a UK undergraduate student. The scholarship includes two paid summer internships in the business.

Scholarship value: £3,000 per year of study for three years

You need to:

  • be an eligible new first year Home UK undergraduate student
  • achieve at least AAB at A level or equivalent
  • have a household income of £42,875 or below as assessed by your student loans awarding agency

Winning Women in Technology: J.P. Morgan Scholarships

You can apply for this scholarship if you are a new first-year undergraduate student. Although this scholarship aims to encourage women in technology, the scheme is open to all students who meet the criteria.

Scholarship value: £3,000 per year of study for three years

Scholarships available: up to 10

Scheme opens: 15 October 2018
Scheme closes: 25 November 2018

You need to be a new first-year undergraduate student in one of these departments:

  • Computer Science
  • Electronic and Electrical Engineering
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Physics
  • Natural Sciences

UK Electronic Skills Foundation (UKESF)

The UKESF offers scholarships to electronics undergraduates at partner universities including Bath. Opportunities include:

  • Paid summer work placements
  • A paid-for place at a residential UKESF Scholar Workshop
  • Connection to a leading employer in the electronics sector
  • Mentorship from your sponsoring company
  • Chance to network and build professional relationships
  • A pre-loaded Blackwell’s gift card in the first year of the scholarship (£200)
  • Each year UKESF will support final year female scholars to attend the WES Student Conference

Scholarship value: Annual bursary of £1,000

Scholarships available: multiple

Scheme opens: Late September 2018
Scheme closes: Late October 2018

You need to:

  • be an eligible Home UK or EU fee paying student or be a British National, with a permanent right to work in the UK when you graduate
  • be studying a BEng or MEng degree which contains a substantial amount of Electronics or Electronic Engineering
  • be in any year of study except final year

RW Barnes Bursary

This £2,500 bursary is available to Home UK students (any year of undergraduate study) studying certain subject areas, with a household income below £45,000.

Scholarship value: bursary of £2,500 renewable annually subject to satisfactory performance

Scholarships available: multiple

Scheme opens: 6 April 2018
Scheme closes: 1pm on 27 July 2018

You need to:

  • be an eligible Home UK student
  • be studying Maths, Physics, Natural Sciences, Aeronautical, Electronic, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • before going to university, you lived within one of these postcode areas: BS, BA, TA, DT, SP3/7/8, SN10/12/13/14/15 or GL9
  • have a household income of less than £45,000
  • be in any year of undergraduate study (except placement)

The Chancellor's scholarship

For 2019 entry, a fee waiver of up to £2,000 will be available to all eligible overseas students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their studies.

Scholarship value:

  • £2,000 first year tuition fee waiver if you achieve A Level grades of A* A* A*, or equivalent
  • £1,000 first year tuition fee waiver if you achieve A Level grades of A* A* A, or equivalent

Scholarships available: Available to all eligible students

If you apply to Bath you will be automatically considered for both the Chancellor's Scholarship and the International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship.

You need to:

  • be assessed as an overseas fee paying student
  • accept a place on a full-time campus based undergraduate course
  • achieve A Level grades of at least A* A* A, or equivalent

The International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship

For 2019 entry, a fee waiver of up to £6,000 will be available to all eligible overseas students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their studies.

Scholarship value:

  • if you achieve 44 points or higher in your IB you will receive a £6,000 first year tuition fee waiver (a total of £8,000 including the Chancellor's Scholarship)
  • if you achieve 43 points in your IB you will receive a £3,000 first year tuition fee waiver (a total of £5,000 including the Chancellor's Scholarship)
  • if you achieve 42 points in your IB you will receive a £1,500 first year tuition fee waiver (a total of £3,500 including the Chancellor's Scholarship)

Scholarships available: Available to all eligible students

If you apply to Bath you will be automatically considered for both the Chancellor's Scholarship and the International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship.

You need to:

  • be assessed as an overseas fee paying student
  • accept a place on a full-time campus based undergraduate course
  • achieve 42 points or higher in the International Baccalaureate (IB)
