The Leica Dmi8 is a fully motorized, multi-modal inverted epifluorescent microscope. The system offers various transmitted light illumination techniques (brightfield, phase contrast, differential interference contrast, cross polarisers), epifluorescence, 2 discrete cameras, shading correction, full environmental control for Live Cell Imaging. The microscope is equipped with filters for DAPI, FITC, Rhod, Y5 and related fluorochromes, as well as with a multi-filter for FRET applications (CFP/YFP) and Calcium imaging (Fura2 @340/380nm). Applications include multi-colour epi-fluorescent imaging, multi-colour 3D imaging, 4D imaging (x, y, z, and time), live cell imaging, steady state Förster/fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) (CFP/YFP), calcium imaging with FURA-2.
