A dynamic theory of random price discount
Dr Daniel Garrett from Toulouse School of Economics will speak about his economic theory research into profit-maximising pricing.
In this seminar Dr Daniel Garrett will discuss his research with Professor Francesc Dilme (University of Bonn). He will explore profit-maximising pricing by a seller facing risk-averse buyers who arrive to the market over time.
He will show how theory can account for empirical regularities, such as the tendency for discount dates to be regularly spaced (or repulsive), and for sales to occur at the deadline for purchase (such as the end of a season).
