Develop your academic reading

The course is for:

  • all undergraduate and postgraduate students who use English as a first or second language.

This 10-week course will help you manage your reading list, improve your note-taking and develop the strategies and skills essential to successful academic reading.

You will understand how to take helpful notes from your reading, and explore different note-taking methods. You will develop strategies to make reading academic texts more efficient.

You will learn to evaluate the validity of writers' arguments and will develop techniques to improve your critical approach to academic texts.

You will have lots of opportunities to discuss texts and get support from your teacher and peers.

This course will take place on Wednesdays in weeks 20-27 and 30-31.
