  • Mathematics
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Pharmacy

The Department Open Day is a great way to take a closer look at the Department before making your final UCAS choices.

You can learn more about the degree and meet members of staff and current students. After an introductory talk, you can learn about the admissions process, have your questions answered and take a tour of the facilities.

Getting here

You can park in all University car parks for free on Saturday 11 March, but there will be a high demand for spaces on the day.

If you are travelling by train, Bath Spa train station is just a 10-minute bus ride away. Regular services run directly from the station to the campus. Find out more about travelling to campus by bus.

See our travel advice for more information on travelling to Bath and the University.

Arriving on campus

The Welcome Point will be open from 8.30am to 5pm in the East Building foyer. At the Welcome Point, members of our Admissions and Accommodation teams, as well as current students and Students’ Union Officers, will be there to offer guidance and answer your questions.

You can attend a number of talks throughout the day in the East Building:

  • 9am to 9.25am - Student Life, by current Bath students
  • 9.30am to 9.55am – Student Support
  • 2.45pm to 3.10pm – Student Life, by current Bath students
  • 3.30pm to 3.55pm – Admissions Advice
  • 4pm to 4.30pm – Student Funding

Places are limited and we will allocate them on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sports Training Village (STV)

Take a guided 30 minute tour of the STV and see the facilities, like the Olympic Legacy swimming pool, the fully-equipped gym and the indoor and outdoor courts and pitches.

Tours begin at 10am, 1pm and 3pm at the front of the building.

Tours last between 45 minutes and 1 hour and leave from the East Building Welcome Point at:

  • 12pm midday
  • 12.45pm
  • 1.30pm
  • 2.15pm
  • 3pm
  • 3.45pm

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your tour start time. These tours are very popular and we have a limited number of places available.

On the tours our Student Ambassador will show you rooms in three different accommodation blocks on campus. Please hold your questions until the end of the tour and our Accommodation representatives at the Welcome Point will be happy to answer them for you. Whilst our Student Ambassadors are wonderful guides, the most accurate information can be given by our accommodation specialists.

The Library, at the centre of campus, is one of the most important facilities you'll use during your studies.

On the Department Open Day, you can go on a self-guided tour of the Library, which is open all day. Self-guided tours last between 20 and 30 minutes. Ask at the Library reception for information.

Campus tours

Your Department should arrange a tour of campus, but if you miss it you can join a tour starting from the East Building Welcome Point at 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm. You can also pick up a campus map from the Welcome Point and walk around on your own. Campus tours last up to 45 minutes.

Contact your Department if you have any questions about the Department Open Day.
