The Winter School is an excellent opportunity for you to undertake face-to-face study whilst working towards your Doctor of Education (EdD) qualification.
At the Winter School you can:
- exchange ideas with other educators from all around the world
- meet staff and students virtually from our Department of Education
If this is your first EdD unit, you will receive an introduction to the course on the first day of the Winter School.
Given the ongoing uncertainties worldwide with respect to the development of Covid-19, we have decided to offer the units planned for January 2021 on the basis of directed learning (online) rather than face-to-face, campus-based teaching. In directed learning units Bath-based tutors will engage with you and your group through a mixture of sessions held in real time (which take into account your time zone) and ongoing online interaction.
The directed learning units planned for January will begin on the same date as the starting date already advertised, with interaction taking place over a period of 6 to 8 weeks.
This is not a decision we have taken lightly, because on-campus teaching is such an important and positive aspect of our EdD programme, but we feel it is the right decision in the circumstances.
EdD units for January 2021
Directed learning units are scheduled to run for between 6 and 8 weeks on these dates.

It will not normally be possible to change units once an application has been made.
