The Winter School is an excellent opportunity for you to learn in a virtual environment whilst working towards your Doctor of Education (EdD) qualification.
At the Winter School you can:
- exchange ideas with other educators from all around the world
- meet staff and students from from our Department of Education virtually
If this is your first EdD unit, you will receive an introduction to the course on the first day of the Winter School.
Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Due to the ongoing uncertainties worldwide caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we will offer the units planned for January 2022 through directed learning (online) rather than face-to-face, campus-based teaching.
In directed learning units, Bath-based tutors will engage with you and your group through a mixture of sessions. These will take place in real-time (taking into account your time zone) and provide ongoing online interaction.
This is not a decision we have taken lightly, because on-campus teaching is such an important and positive aspect of our EdD programme. But we feel it is the right decision in the circumstances.
EdD units for January 2022
Directed learning units are scheduled to run for between 8 and 9 weeks.
The following units will start on 19 January 2022:
- Educational Research: philosophy and practice
- Educational Policy: theory and practice
- Educational management, leadership and administration
Unit fees
The unit fee is £1,995.
You must pay a £250 deposit when enrolling for the Winter School.
Unless exceptional circumstances have been agreed by the Director of Studies, the unit deposit is non-refundable. It will not normally be possible to change units once you have applied.
