Entrepreneurship and innovation: Entrepreneur experience (5 day course)
An immersive experience working on a live entrepreneurial business guided by scientific consultants
Learn 'on the job' by spending a week helping a client build their business from the ground up. Alternatively, if you have an idea for a scientific business, be the client yourself. Find a market, a customer, develop a revenue model, build contact with industry, then pitch for investment. Learn the skill sets necessary to build your own company and translate your research into the real world.
This programme aims to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurially minded researchers and arm them with the skill-sets needed to commercialise new discoveries in their field.
The program is based in Bristol’s first Science Incubator, Unit DX, the focal point for the area’s growing scientific innovation ecosystem. We bring teams of researchers together to work shoulder-to-shoulder with innovators, entrepreneurs, and start ups in an immersive crash course in creating successful science companies.
This experience is limited to five participants. Priority will be given to EPSRC-funded students in the first instance.

This workshop is part of a wider programme of training, delivered by Spin Up Science, intended to up-skill science and engineering doctoral students in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation. It is supported by EPSRC funding as part of the National Productivity Investment Fund (NPIF).
