A man running a marathon
What does it take to run a marathon?

Running a marathon is about challenging yourself. Every year, the London Marathon inspires people to take up the challenge. It requires training, consistency, commitment and determination. Crossing the finish line of a marathon is a feat most people can achieve if they prepare well for it. Whether you are thinking about it in order to lose weight, get healthier or to raise awareness for a charity, this lecture will help you achieve your goal. Topics such as injury prevention, choice of footwear, nutrition and top tips to get to the finish line will be covered by three experts from our Department for Health - Dr Polly McGuigan, Dr Jean-Philippe Walhin and Dr Javier Gonzalez.
