Integrative Think Tank 11: Exploring limits in wave transmission

ITTs take high level challenges from external partners and formulate them into mathematical questions that can be addressed through long-term research projects.

  • 27 Jan 2020, 9.00am to 31 Jan 2020, 5.00pm GMT
  • Bath Royal Literature and Scientific Institution (BRLSI), Bath, United Kingdom
  • This event is free
This event is invitation-only

ITT11 partners are BT and the Centre for Photonics and Photonic Materials

The partners bring a wide variety of statistical applied mathematics driven-challenges including:

  • Modelling and allocation of 5G communication resources
  • Optimisation of multi-layered communication transmissions and business resources
  • Business risk forecasting and customer satisfaction evaluation of telecommunication products
  • New algorithmic approaches for massive MIMO problems
  • Quantifying uncertainty of measurements in interferometry
  • Optimisation of multifibre arrays to minimise defects and cross-talk
  • Improving efficiency and design of hollow core fibres
  • Understanding generation of ultrabroad spectra with lasers and optical fibres

The ITT takes places off campus at the Bath Royal Literature and Scientific Institution (BRLSI).
