Using insight from REF 2014 and practical activities, you will have the chance to consider how public engagement can be useful for you in general and for the upcoming Research Excellence Framework (REF). We will also discuss evidencing impact from public engagement activities.

Learning objectives

Participants will:

  • understand how public engagement featured as a pathway to impact in REF 2014
  • consider how public engagement works to enhance and reinforce other pathways to impact
  • identify potential public groups and consider how best to engage them
  • discuss how to capture impact evidence from public engagement

Lunch with Impact Workshops

This event is part of the Lunch with Impact Workshops series, funded by the University’s HEIF and EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account. The series supports staff in identifying, generating and evidencing impact from their research. Sessions are practical in nature, enabling attendees to apply the information, knowledge and tools to their own research.
