Lunch with impact: Knowledge Exchange (KE) in practice

This lunch with impact workshop provides an introduction to KE; how it is defined, how to get started with KE, and how to support and promote KE activity.

  • 17 Nov 2021, 1.30pm to 17 Nov 2021, 3.00pm GMT
  • This is an online event.
  • This event is free

KE is a new priority for Universities, driven by the introduction of the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) and the Knowledge Exchange Concordat (KEC).

However, the term KE is generating uncertainty among staff and institutions about what it is precisely, whether it means additional work on top of existing duties, and how it can be introduced and integrated into practice - both at individual and Faculty levels.

This introductory workshop starts by defining KE, identifies what it looks like in practice, through examples from around the university and how to get started with KE.

The course will be led by Dr Denise Cooke, Head of Knowledge Exchange in Research and Innovation Services (RIS), and Dr Emma Gibbard, Research Impact Manager at the University of Bath.

After the presentations, there will be facilitated break-out sessions, where you will have the opportunity to hear from other participants and discuss what KE means for your research, so please ensure you have access to a camera and microphone.

Lunch with Impact Workshops

This workshop is part of a series organised by the University’s HEIF and EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA), to support researchers in identifying, generating, evidencing and achieving knowledge exchange and impact from their research. Sessions are designed to enable attendees to apply the information, knowledge and tools to their own research.
