Responsible (research and) Innovation is a newly emerging governance framework, promoted by public funders of research such as the European Commission and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
In this talk, Dr Kostas Iatridis will discuss the content of responsible innovation, its basic principles, and means of implementation. Given that a significant amount of research and innovation activities takes place in the private sector, he will also discuss how responsible innovation can be implemented in the private sector.
Dr Kostas Iatridis is a Lecturer in Business and Society in the School of Management at the University of Bath. His research explores the governance mechanisms companies use to address contemporary challenges for sustainable/responsible conduct.
Kostas is co-author of "Responsible research and innovation in industry. The case for corporate responsibility tools", published by Springer. He is co-editor in chief for the "SpringerBriefs in Research and Innovation Governance" series and his research has been published in leading academic journals including "Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of Business Ethics and Journal of Environmental Management".
