Making public policy from the outside: challenges, pitfalls & successes in Europe & the UK
Making public policy from the outside: challenges, pitfalls & successes in Europe & the UK

In this session Liz Gosme, Director of CoFACE Families Europe, a Europe-wide social NGO based in Brussels, and Rod Clark, CEO of the Prisoners Education Trust in the UK, will share their experiences of influencing policy from the ‘outside’, discuss how public policymaking works in different contexts, and debate what really matters for success and failure in everyday advocacy politics.

This Masterclass is a taster for the University of Bath's new part-time MSc in Public Policy (MPP) , launching in September 2018. It is one of two such events, with the other having been held in London on 22 February.

The Bath MPP draws on outstanding international expertise in applied research and policy studies. It explores creative and innovative approaches for making, shaping and influencing policy, design, and delivery. Intellectually challenging, analytically rigorous and practical, the Bath MPP can be combined with full-time employment.
