What is Management meets?

The Management meets series aims to provide expert insight into a variety of industries, professions and topics.

This is a forum for building on expertise by asking questions, discussing challenges and networking with others in the field.

Who is this event for?

This event is open to everyone but will be of particular interest for:

  • those who work in marketing
  • those who have a particular interest in marketing

What will it cover?

This event will consist of an informal talk led by Kate Stringer, Head of Marketing for the School of Management, with our speakers, Gemma and Idris, discussing AI in marketing. They will talk around:

  • how AI can accelerate your work
  • how to use AI effectively, without diluting your brand's authenticity
  • why human engagement is important in marketing
  • the power of primary research

As well as hearing from Gemma, Idris and Kate's direct experience in marketing, the event will provide the opportunity to:

  • connect with like-minded marketers who share your aspirations and concerns

Our speakers: Gemma Redgrave, Idris Kaplan and Kate Stringer

Gemma and Idris of AKQA are the speakers for this session.

Gemma is an award-winning Global Marketing Director, specialising in reputation and recognition leadership. She supports brands to amplify their story, craft world-class partnerships and win awards. She is currently leading the Global Marketing and PR team at AKQA. Gemma has worked on global campaigns, events and launches for brands including LEGO, Gymshark, Volvo Cars and Spotify. Gemma has been named as the number one Global Awards Manager by Creative Pool, was named on The Dots Rising Star 2021 list, was honoured by Oxford Brooks Business School and has been invited to be an awarding judge at multiple industry shows including The New York Advertising Festival, Young Lions and the Future Lions award in partnership with Cannes International Festival of Creativity. She is also a steering group member of the Bath University Employer Forum.

Idris is a versatile Strategist, with experience across brand, digital, creative, and customer experience strategy. Having studied Architectural and Civil Engineering at the University of Bath, Idris thrives at the intersection between art and science, drawing inspiration from his technical and creative frames of reference. From start-up to Fortune 500, Idris helps clients solve their most pressing challenges through imagination, innovation, and design.

Head of Marketing for the School of Management, Kate Stringer, will lead the discussion. She leads the School’s branding and positioning, as well as the promotion of the business school’s undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Kate is also a part-time student in Bath’s Doctor of Business Administration in Higher Education Management degree, giving her the opportunity to delve into the theory behind the practice.
