Royal Society University Research Fellowship writing retreat
Supporting you to write applications for Royal Society University Research Fellowships, to build an independent research career.
The RIS Writing Retreat supports you if you are interested in applying to the Royal Society University Research Fellowships.
The next call opens Tuesday 17 July with an anticipated deadline of 4 September 2018.
Those interested in applying should have notified the Pre-Award team by Monday 2 July 2018. Applicants need to confirm with their Head of Department that s/he will support the proposal and provide a letter of support.
In conjunction with the Retreat, we will hold an RS URF information session and writing sprint on:
- Tuesday 17 July
During the Sprint, we will work through the proposal section by section, giving applicants time for discussion and writing, with the rest of the Retreat to continue writing. Applicants may attend both or either activity.
The URF provides the opportunity to build an independent research career. Those appointed are expected to be strong candidates for permanent posts in universities at the end of their fellowships.
It covers all areas of the life and physical sciences, including engineering, but excluding clinical medicine. Researchers addressing a direct biomedical research question should apply for a Sir Henry Dale Fellowship.
