The Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies (PoLIS) at the University of Bath, is pleased to host a free event aimed at school teachers and practitioners in the field of modern languages.
The event will feature workshops and activities designed to foster connections with the language teaching community from PoLIS, and to discuss and reflect on the development of modern languages.
What to expect on the day

10:30am | Opening and welcome with Head of PoLIS Dr Nick Startin and Admissions Tutor Enrico Cecconi, and presentation of language courses in the Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies |
11:15am | A range of workshops such as Creative Didactic Materials for Language Development, Student Engagement and Production, Research Skills, Strategies for Autonomous Learning, Translation, and Technology Inside and Outside the classroom |
12:15pm | Lunch (buffet lunch provided) |
14:15pm | Round table discussion on the workshops to connect with other teachers and share ideas for the classroom for future projects |
15:15pm | Tea, coffee and biscuits |
15:30pm | Expert panel session and Q&A with members of staff, students and alumni to talk about studying languages at Bath, the year abroad, careers in languages, and employability |
16:30pm | Close and optional campus tours with our student ambassadors |
Accommodation
