Taster lecture: 20th Century economic globalisation - an unstoppable force
Dr Felicia Fai

This talk will highlight that for much of the 20th Century economic globalisation looked to be an unstoppable force. However, the 21st century has seen growing unrest with the uneven distribution of economic wealth and opportunity; the rise of nationalism across the world and the exacerbation of these by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. Politicians and academics alike question how the pursuit of economic growth can continue but balanced by greater social equity, inclusiveness, and sustainability. These questions provide enormous challenges to managers about adopting better practices for the future of international business and its management.
