With the rise of digital technology, there is widespread concern about what will happen to labour.

In this lecture, Professor Kaushik Basu will explore the meaning of labour and unemployment, and why these definitions are likely to change fundamentally. He will also look at new avenues of research and policy interventions that may open up as a result.

The talk will then go on to address India’s current challenge of high youth unemployment, what may be causing it, and what we can do.
