Esther Parkin Residence accommodation

If you are a visiting academic, you can stay in Esther Parkin on a short term basis. The residence is located on the north side of our Claverton Down campus.

About this accommodation

If you are a visiting academic with a family, you can stay in one of the five self-contained residences in Esther Parkin on a short-term basis.

Esther Parkin is located close to the centre of campus, amongst some of the student accommodation. It is close to many of the main teaching spaces and campus amenities, like the cafes, shops and banks.

To make you feel safe and at home, Esther Parkin has a secure living environment, with secure key access to the building.

There is an open play area for children, who must be supervised.

The Residence has two rooms that staff can hire for meetings or social events. If you'd like to hire a room, email Carole Cox at

All of our University accommodation is smoke free.


There are two cottages, one at each end of the building. Cottages cost £332 a week.

A lounge and dining room

Cottages have:

  • three bedrooms, so there's plenty of space for a family
  • study/extra bedroom
  • large kitchen with your own washing machine
  • large lounge/dining room
  • upstairs bathroom with shower over the bath
  • downstairs toilet with sink


There are two flats, which cost £273 a week.

Flats have:

  • one double bedroom
  • one single bedroom
  • lounge/dining room
  • small kitchen
  • bathroom with shower over bath


There is one studio, which suits one person for a short visit. It costs £204 a week.

A kitchen

The studio has:

  • a study/bedroom
  • en-suite shower room
  • kitchenette

Accommodation for academics or family members with disabilities

There is no accessible accommodation in Esther Parkin Residence.

If you have a disability or additional needs, you can choose to live in one of the specially adapted bedrooms in our on-campus accommodation.
