Applying for a place on a Summer School

Find out how you can apply for a place on one of the Summer Schools run by Widening Participation for Year 12 students.

Application forms and information

Your teacher will give you printed information about our 2019 Summer Schools and the application form in January 2019. If your teacher does not give you information or you are not sure that your school can take part, ask your teacher to contact us.

What you need to do

Read everything your teacher gives you before you start to apply.

Make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria. Your teacher or adviser can answer any questions and find out any extra information for you.

You need to supply your predicted grades for your exams to be able to complete the form. You also need to write a statement for the application. This must explain why you want to attend and how you will benefit.

What your parent or carer needs to do

Your parent or carer needs to complete and sign part of the form.

What your teacher needs to do

Your teacher needs to sign your form and provide some supporting information. This includes a statement to explain what they think you will gain from coming to a Summer School.

Deadline for applications

Applications will open for our 2019 summer schools in January 2019 and close in March 2019.

You can either post your fully completed application to the address given on the bottom of the front page of the form or email a scanned copy to widening-participation@bath.ac.uk.

If your teacher does not give you an application form, you can download one from this website when it becomes available.

Year 12 Summer School

If you are interested in either the Social Sciences, Science or Engineering Summer School, you will need to download an application form. The 2018 summer schools are now closed and the 2019 application form will be available in January 2019.

Finding out if you have got a place

We will email you to tell you we have received your form.

There are approximately 90 places available per summer school. We will send you a letter to let you know if you have a place or not. It takes up to two months for us to confirm places.
