Arranging student accommodation for quarantine in the UK
If you're returning to Bath, or a new student coming to Bath from abroad, find out how to arrange accommodation for quarantine and how we'll support you.
Find out whether you need to go into quarantine
If you come to the UK from another country, you might need to go into quarantine (also called 'self-isolation') for 10 days from the day you arrive. This is a UK government regulation to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Check whether you can come to England without going into quarantine.
What to do if you need to go into quarantine
To arrange University accommodation for quarantine, you must email quarantine@bath.ac.uk.
How we'll support you during quarantine
We could provide you with accommodation and food for two weeks, if you:
- are a new student
- have chosen to live in University accommodation
- need to go into quarantine when you arrive in the UK
Your accommodation will be on the University campus with up to five other quarantined students. You must follow social-distancing and hygiene guidelines at all times.
Read about what you need to do while living in quarantine accommodation.
If we don't have any more space in our quarantine accommodation, you can:
- study from home through Bath Blend, our blended-learning experience, until there's accommodation available - watch our video about Bath Blend
- make your own accommodation arrangements for quarantine outside of the University - you would also need to arrange your own food deliveries
Taking a test to reduce the quarantine period
We are working to provide a test option to reduce the quarantine period to five days if you receive a negative test result.
More details will be posted here when available.
After quarantine
We'll contact you after your quarantine period to arrange for you to move into your normal University accommodation. Read more about moving into normal accommodation after quarantine.
