BECAL Scholarships for Paraguayan Postgraduate Researchers

Details about a scholarship programme for Paraguayan students to undertake funded Doctoral programmes at Bath.

About the scholarships

The University of Bath’s agreement with Paraguay’s Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship Programme Don Carlos Antonio López (BECAL), provides new opportunities for Paraguayan students to undertake funded Doctoral programmes at Bath.

The agreement covers all areas of studies and we are now inviting applications for the 2018/19 academic year.

Paraguayan students admitted to the University and selected by BECAL will have their tuition fees reduced by the University for a period of four years, subject to the student’s satisfactory progress.

BECAL will pay the reduced tuition fee, a training support fee as required, and up to 10 weeks of a pre-sessional English and study skills course for any student who has been fully accepted, but wishes to improve their English and communication skills before starting their programme. Additionally, BECAL will provide the student with a stipend to cover living expenses.

The student shall be responsible for covering the cost of accommodation, all travel expenses, insurance, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), books, equipment, and other incidental expenses.
