Discover Bath provides an opportunity for Year 12 students to experience studying a social science degree at Bath

Overview

The Social Science residentials of Discover Bath will run from Monday 8 to Thursday 11 July 2019 and will help you make a strong application to the University of Bath.

In the build up to the residential, we will support you with A level content and prepare you for the first year of undergraduate work you will undertake at Bath. You'll get direct access to current University students who will support you with the preparation before you arrive and the work you undertake during and after the residential. They will also be on hand to guide you through the process of choosing and applying to university.

Each student on the programme will be assigned an e-mentor who is a current student at Bath studying a Social Science subject.

Below are the details of the subjects on offer for the Social Science residentials:

Criminology

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Criminology strand of Discover Bath you must be studying A levels including at least one Humanities or Social Science subject. You must also be academically-able and be likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Criminology courses at Bath. To be eligible for a subsidised place you must meet our widening participation criteria.

Economics

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Economics strand of Discover Bath you must be studying A level Maths. You must also be academically-able and be likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Economics courses at Bath. To be eligible for a subsidised place you must meet our widening participation criteria.

Education with Psychology

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Education and Psychology strand of Discover Bath you must be academically-able and be likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Education courses at Bath. To be eligible for a subsidised place you must meet our widening participation criteria.

Health & Sport

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Health & Sport strand of Discover Bath you do not need to have studied a Science subject to a high level to be considered for this course, however, we prefer applicants who can demonstrate a solid grounding in Science. You must also be academically-able and be likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Health and Sport courses at Bath. To be eligible for a subsidised place you must meet our Widening Participation criteria.

Languages (French, German, Spanish)

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Languages strand of Discover Bath you must be studying an A Level in the language you apply for. You must also be academically-able and be likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Languages courses (French, German or Spanish) at Bath. To be eligible for a subsidised place you must meet our widening participation criteria.
