Exam Information for Faculty Administrators

Information for Faculty Administrators who are responsible for examinations within their Faculty/School.

Academic Registry's role

Academic Registry is here to support you in the central organisation of your Department or School’s examinations.

The rules and procedures for examination candidates are set out in the University Regulations, in QA28, and in University Rule 2.

Academic Registry produces the examination schedule for main venues and for all venues where alternative arrangements are in place. We also organise all porters for the exams, and we make the arrangements for invigilators for exams where alternative arrangements are in place.

Academic Registry also manages all master copies of exam papers, and organises the duplication of all the examination papers.

If you have any questions on examinations arrangements not covered here, please contact Academic Registry

Examination Paper Submission Deadlines

Papers must be submitted to Academic Registry by the date outlined in the Academic Administration Calendar

Delivering Examination Papers to the Academic Registry

Papers must be delivered in person, and must not be left in pigeon holes, or sent through internal mail.

It is always advisable to phone or email in advance just to make sure somebody is in the office to accept the papers from you.

No papers may be submitted to Academic Registry electronically.

Papers may only be left with Jenny While or Ella Richardson. For security reasons, other staff in Academic Registry will not be able to accept papers.

Office opening times (normal)

The office is open Monday to Friday 10.00am until 4.00pm but please always call in advance to make sure we are available.

Office opening times (during assessment periods)

During assessment periods the office will be open for extended periods. Please phone ahead if you need to visit the office outside the core hours to ensure someone will be there (this includes those who need to collect exam scripts outside of the core hours).
