Joining the University's LinkedIn groups

LinkedIn is one of the easiest ways to connect with alumni.

Keep in touch

The Advancement Office manages the main group, the University of Bath Alumni Community, which has over 11,000 members.

In addition to this group, there are other subject, department or faculty based groups and some sub groups within, allowing you to hear news, contribute to discussions and connect with alumni from your specific discipline or field.

You will need a LinkedIn profile in order to join any of the groups; requests to join are cross-referenced against alumni data, meaning it can take 2 - 3 working days for your request to be approved.

Terms of Use

We welcome contributions to our LinkedIn groups (e.g. comments and posts). The following guidelines are designed to provide a quality environment for members of these groups. Please read them and keep them in mind whenever you participate.

The groups provide a place to discuss activities related to them, including events and updates for alumni. They are also a space to make use of the global network of students, staff and alumni - including but not limited to careers advice, international events and memories of university.

We abide by LinkedIn’s Privacy Policy and User Agreement, and we ask the members of the groups to do the same. Please do not "act dishonestly or unprofessionally by engaging in unprofessional behaviour by posting inappropriate, inaccurate, or objectionable content to LinkedIn" or "harass, abuse or harm another person, including sending unwelcome communications to others using LinkedIn" in the groups.

It is important to note that user content does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the University. The groups’ administrators reserve the right to remove any posts that are factually erroneous/libellous, wildly off-topic, aim to sell products or services, or that otherwise violate LinkedIn's Privacy Policy or User Agreement. LinkedIn may remove content they consider in breach of the User Agreement or when 20 or more group members flag content as objectionable.
