Pathway to Bath - Engineering
Find out more about the Engineering stream of Pathway to Bath
The Engineering strands of the Pathway to Bath programme for A-Level students will run March to December and will support you to make a strong application to the University of Bath. Throughout the year you will have online activities every 2 weeks that will take 2-3 hours to complete.
You will undertake a research project and get support with A-level content as well as getting direct access to current university students who will guide you through the process of choosing and applying to university. Each student on the programme will be assigned an e-mentor who is a current student at Bath studying an Engineering subject.
As part of the Electrical Engineering strand, students will undertake a research project focused on creating a portable weather station using appropriate sensors and an Arduino microprocessor. Skills gained as part of the project will include circuit design and construction, programming and data analysis.
Each session will support you with the process of designing your own research and give you the relevant knowledge you will need to successfully undertake your research.
To be eligible for the A-Level Engineering strand of Pathway to Bath you must meet our Widening Participation criteria and be studying Maths plus another science or technology at A-Level. You must also be academically able to apply for one of the Electrical Engineering courses at Bath.
