Combined vs standalone offers

A standalone offer means that the pre-sessional course is separate from the degree course, and the student needs to apply for their pre-sessional course via the Skills Centre. We are only able to accept IELTS SELT certificates for standalone applications – these must be taken at a UKVI approved test centre.

A combined offer can only be made to postgraduate students, and means that the pre-sessional course is combined with a postgraduate degree, making a fourteen-month or thirteen-month course. Students may be eligible for a combined offer if their English level is within a 1.0 IELTS band of the entry requirements for their programme (and they have a minimum of 5.5 in each skill). Students must apply for a combined offer by contacting the Postgraduate Taught Admissions Team, or the School of Management.
