Registering to attend your graduation ceremony

How to register for your graduation ceremony and how to get your award certificate if you can’t come.

December 2021 ceremonies

We are doing everything we can to hold in-person, Covid-secure, graduation ceremonies during December 2021.

Students who are eligible to graduate in these ceremonies will be sent an invitation to register to attend on 10 November 2021.

Eligibility to attend

You are eligible to attend the December 2021 ceremonies if you have completed a postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree since the 20 July 2021 or are expecting to complete one of these courses on or before the 18 November 2021.

Registering to attend

If you’re eligible to attend a ceremony in December 2021 you will be sent an email on 10 November asking you to register for your ceremony.

The invitation email will direct you to an online form where you'll be able to:

  • confirm whether or not you'll be coming to the ceremony
  • let us know about any accessibility arrangements you'll need to arrange with us for guests with a disability
  • make arrangements for your certificate to be sent to you if you decide not to attend your ceremony. You’ll still have to complete the form to tell us you’re not coming.

Deadline for registration

You must register by 5pm on Friday 19 November 2021. If you don’t complete registration by the deadline you may not be able to attend your graduation ceremony.

You'll be able to change your details at any point before the deadline.

Deferring attendance to a future ceremony

We understand that it may not be possible for you to attend due to travel and other restrictions related to covid-19. You can therefore defer your place and attend a future set of ceremonies.

You will be asked to confirm on the registration form if you wish to defer your place.
