About this course
The Development Toolkit has over 2,000 resources such as top tips, key guides and self-assessments on a range of topics, including Leadership, Personal Skills and Well-being. There are also new 101 management e-learning modules.
These resources are free to staff - this session enables you to use them at your own pace to support your individual learning and development needs.
Depending on your current needs, the session may therefore involve completing an elearning course, brushing-up or re-affirming your existing knowledge, or focussing on skills you wish to develop.
Colleagues from the Staff Development team will be on hand to provide support and guidance if needed. The session will start with a 10minute walk-through of the Development Toolkit for those who haven’t used it before.
Intended learning outcomes
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- describe key principles and techniques related to your focus area(s)
- identify tips, solutions, and techniques you can use to further develop your knowledge and skills in your focus area(s)
- recall where to find online resources to support your continued/future personal learning and development needs
Effective Behaviours Framework (EBF)
The Effective Behaviours Framework (EBF) has nine key behavioural areas. This course will help you to develop skills and knowledge related to the EBF behavioural groups highlighted below:
- Embracing change
- Using resources effectively
- Developing self and others
Please note that attending the course does not provide evidence of achieving these behaviours; you will need to demonstrate them by applying your skills and knowledge.

This course is suitable for all staff, especially if you are unaware of the Development Toolkit and how you can best use it, or if you have already identified areas for personal development.
