Hi Bruce, hope you are well, I have tried to contact you and left an message on your voicemail.

Sarah is on annual leave today and her account is being covered. I have picked up on this email relating to six adverts, two of which seem to be placed already. Apparently the four remaining adverts are joint adverts between yourself and UCL, please can you confirm for me, are the four adverts below the remaining adverts to be placed and also, are they to be placed under University of Bath:

Education & Research
• VH1750 - Research Officer - Acquisition of Urban Assets - fixed term 3 years
• VH1751 - Research Officer - Acquisition, Modelling & Editing of Complex Natural Phenomena - fixed term 3 years
• VH1752 - Research Officer - Graphic System Integration - fixed term 3 years

I understand you would also like the sentence below adding to each of the four adverts:

Research Project - OAK:Outdoor Asset Capture

The University of Bath and University College London are engaged in a joint research project, “OAK: Outdoor Asset Capture”, designed to address core Computer Science issues raised by the needs of the creative industries -- the film, games, and broadcast sectors in particular.

Six industrial leaders are involved through an advisory panel. The purpose is to enable these industries to easily capture three dimensional dynamic models of outdoor locations, in urban, semi-urban, and natural environments. The aim is to acquire outdoor assets at a range of scales from a few millimetres through the kilometres, from bark to trees to forests.

Vacancy - Acquisition, Modelling & Editing of Complex Natural Phenomena

Acquisition, Modelling & Editing of Complex Natural Phenomena such as trees, water, fire and smoke. The work takes place under the supervision of Dr Peter Hall (University of Bath) and aims at extracting and learning characteristic properties of real natural phenomena from video

A key challenge will be how to maintain direct editability of the models, and produce new instances under the direction of a user from one of the creative industries.

The work will straddle aspects of computer vision, computer graphics and machine learning.

There are four vacancies at Bath cover:

  1. Research Officer - Acquisition of Urban Assets - fixed term 3 years - VH1750
  2. Research Officer - Acquisition, Modelling & Editing of Complex Natural Phenomena - fixed term 3 years - VH175
