Ranked 5th in the UK’s universities and colleges by the Guardian University Guide 2018
and placed 12th for research excellence, the University of Bath is one of the UK’s leading
universities with an international reputation for the quality of our research and teaching.
Overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath, it offers a welcoming, supportive
and inspiring environment to work and to live.

In the University’s 50th year, we launched a new strategy. Central to delivering this strategy,
the new role of Commercial Director will be responsible for leading the development of the
University’s commercial services, driving value and income for the University which supports
its academic vision and strategic objectives. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor with direct
management responsibility for accommodation, hospitality and security and executive education,
the Commercial Director will shape and drive the University’s commercial strategy to maximise the
year-round returns from the University’s physical assets and its commercially traded services.

As a senior member of the executive team, the successful candidate will have a major contribution
to make at a strategic and corporate level to the future development of the University. You will
bring a substantial track record of leading commercial services, delivering income growth and
diversification, and experience of leading digital sales strategies. Through your leadership, energy
and experience, you will foster an entrepreneurial and innovative approach to the development of
commercial relationships across our internal and external stakeholder community.
