Lecturer in Theoretical and Computational Soft Matter,  Non-equilibrium & Emergent Phenomena

The Department of Physics at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Lecturer with an established research profile in one or more of the fields of Theoretical and Computational Soft Matter, Non-equilibrium Statistical Mechanics, and Emergence. The appointee will become a member of the Theoretical and Computational Physics group (http://www.bath.ac.uk/physics/research/theory/), which has an international reputation for developing innovative theoretical and computational methods and applying them to interdisciplinary problems, often in collaboration with experimentalists. Group members are active in numerous international, national and local collaborations, and are major users of the University’s high performance computer (http://www.bath.ac.uk/bucs/services/hpc/). The successful candidate will establish a well-funded independent research programme that complements and enhances existing activities in the group and around the university, for instance by forming links to the Institute for Mathematical Innovation, the Departments of Chemistry and Biology, and the Centre for Collective Behaviour and Networks. The appointee will also contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision and other administrative duties within the Department.
