As a Research Software Engineer you will work within the prestigious EPSRC Centre for the Analysis of Motion, Entertainment Research and Applications (CAMERA). You will support internationally leading interdisciplinary research across the centre. Activities include assisting in the production of high-quality research software and leading the development and refinement of research outputs from early prototypes to deployable applications. You will work with academic and other staff and research students in CAMERA and, when appropriate, liaise with CAMERA partners and collaborators.

Projects are likely to span a variety of application areas across the CAMERA themes, broadly in the areas of creative technologies, rehabilitation and assistive technologies, and human performance enhancement.

You will collaborate with research colleagues and provide expert level knowledge and skills to develop, improve, maintain and support high quality software solutions fulfilling the requirements of research activity and impact. You will contribute to developing the knowledge and skills within the CAMERA research team at all stages of the software development cycle, e.g. by providing technical training, coaching sessions and promoting the adoption of best practices. 

To be successful in this role you must have some experience in research and a strong background in programming and software development. You should be committed to software development best practices and know how to adapt them for research contexts. You will need to have excellent communication skills and a talent for technical problem solving.
