We are seeking a Research Associate to join a research group developing potential treatment agents for drug use disorders in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology.

The project is highly collaborative, with the medicinal/synthetic organic chemistry taking place at the University of Bath and evaluation of the compounds carried out by our collaborators in the US. Our previous studies into mixed mu/NOP receptor agonists indicates they are analgesics with substantially improved abuse liability profile than currently used opioids. We are now looking to determine whether compounds of this type are effective in attenuating the abuse- and dependence-related adverse effects of various drugs of abuse.

This role requires the ability to work on the gram scale with a focus on providing our collaborators with fully characterised material of high purity. Strong organisation skills and accurate reporting are required.
